Second Draft and Feedback

Second Draft - Improvements Made - After participating in a focus group and receiving feedback on my first completed draft, I went straight back to editing to complete these improvements, hopefully making my documentary look more professional in the process. The main improvement I received several times was to get rid of the white noise in the background of most clips, as well as adjusting the volume levels throughout so that all clips were equal and one wasn't louder than the other, since for example, my ending interview was a lot quieter that the rest of my documentary at times, as well as different sections on different venues sounding completely different due to filming them all separately. Before this I hadn't actually changed the audio on Premiere Pro before as it never was necessary, so I researched and watched some tutorials on YouTube, allowing me to see the best way to do this, and it wasn't difficult at all therefore I was able to quickly make this improvement a

My first completed draft of my documentary:  Feedback (focus group):  Recap of Feedback - What did you like about the documentary? 'It's really well put together, I love that it was chronological for each place, really educational, now I know a lot more about live music and the bands that performed here, even if you didn't have videos you had photos, just really well put together.'  'I like the way you edited it, even without videos you were able to make the story come through, with the pictures you were able to educate people as a documentary should, the intro and outro have a nice pace, ending is very good for your professional practice.'  What could I improve on? ' You could fix the voices / vocals as there's lots of white noise in the background, you can remove it on Premiere Pro to make it sound better.' 'I agree on fixing the background noise is there is a lot of white noise, also maybe adding some background music quietly as some clips do

Post Production - Editing

Empire Coming to the conclusion that I am happy with how my script looks, but am continuing to make changes, I began editing my first venue section after my introduction - The Empire Theatre, Sunderland. Having previously had access to film at the venue back in January, I already had my own footage, and from here had to collect more - From old photographs of the venue itself, images of stars who have performed there, and even interviews sourced from online.     For a first creation I am happy with the outcome, but I will continue to develop the clip to ensure I can improve it for the final piece. I decided to open up the Empire section with footage from Sunderland on Film , which shows the building in what I assume is the 1950s with a crowd of people outside, which I felt was a nice opening since it is the only older piece of footage I can find of the venue - Since due to the time, there wouldn't be a lot of footage to look back on, perhaps just photographs. Afterwards I decided

Production Diary - Filming at the Empire

Some of the footage I recorded while at the venue -  This is an example of some footage that I was not able to use due to the camera being unsteady, due to not using a tripod. I was lucky in that I had enough footage to use, but to avoid this happening again and the outcome possibly being worse, I know that when I next come to film I will ensure I use a tripod, allowing my shots to be steady.   Furthermore, this is an example of footage I was able to use and featured in my documentary. When filming inside of the venue, I filmed anything and everything I could, as I would rather haver too much footage than too little, since this would mean I'd have to return to the venue to film some more, but this wasn't necessary. I tried to film a range of different camera shots to show range in my filming and production, and I am happy with the outcome, as I was able to film shots like wide angle shots of the whole venue, close up shots of things like the finer details around the Empire incl
